Sensei Denis Casey & Sensei Antony Grainger reach once in a lifetime milestones...

Sensei Denis Casey - 9th Dan - Hanshi:

Our Chief Instructor, Denis Casey Sensei, has achieved a remarkable milestone during his trip to Japan and has been promoted to the prestigious rank of 9th Dan (九段 - Kudan) and honoured with the title of Hanshi (範士).

This recognition is a reflection of Sensei’s dedication, expertise, passion and continued contributions to Karate-do. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping the growth and success of our association, and we are proud to have him as our Chief Instructor, Denis Casey Sensei, 9th Dan Hanshi.

Please join me in congratulating Sensei on this outstanding accomplishment. His commitment to excellence sets a high standard for all of us to aspire to.

(Hanshi refers to a senior expert considered a "teacher of teachers")

(This title is reserved for only the top few instructors of that style/association, and is sometimes translated "Grand Master")

Sensei Antony Grainger - 8th Dan - Shihan:

Sensei Antony Grainger, our Associations' Assistant Chief Instructor and all-round great fellow has been awarded his 8th Dan - Hachidan (八段) in Japan by World Chief Instructor Kamohara Sensei, and assisted by Denis Casey Sensei. I'm sure you will all agree that this is a very well-deserved and well-earned honour.

We all congratulate Sensei Denis & Sensei Tony on this momentous occasion.
